Alchemy Level Guide - Beginner to Master
Getting Started and Leveling Alchemy the Easy Way
Leveling Alchemy: From Beginner to Master
Heya,
this is a quick guide on getting started with alchemy and leveling to master. I'll explain everything from the ground up, so no prior knowledge of alchemy is required.
Why Level Alchemy: Milestones
Leveling up alchemy unlocks new recipes. Notably:
- At master 1 you'll have all elixirs and their rare procs unlocked and get maximum yield on them *.
- At guru 1 you'll be able to craft purified lightstones.
The higher your level the more mastery you get, which means
- Getting more items per craft
- A higher chance at getting the big lottery drops like Gold Bar 1,000G orSturdy Alchemy Stone of Life.

Step 1: Rent a Residence and a Container
You need a residence to do alchemy, which can be rented for CP (Open the map → click on a city → select a house → 'Residence' → 'Purchase: Residence').
Ideally, you want to get a cheap residence in a convenient location, for example close to the market or the imperial crafting NPC (for example Heidel 1-1 or Calpheon North Gate 4, 1F). By the way, to rent a residence that is part of a house chain, you don't need to have invested in the previous houses.
You also want to rent a

Step 3: Reduce your Alchemy Time
An alchemy craft takes 10 seconds to complete, which can be reduced to a minimum of 1 second. Reducing your alchemy time is essential for leveling your alchemy fast.
The table below lists items that reduce alchemy time.
Category | Item | Reduction |
---|---|---|
Utensils | 1 second | |
Clothes | 1-7 seconds | |
1-7 seconds | ||
Alch Stone | 0.5-2 seconds | |
1.1 seconds | ||
Food | 0.6 seconds | |
Elixir | 1 second | |
Lightstone Set | 2 seconds | |
Pearl Shop Costume | 2 seconds | |
Event | Event buffs | usually 1 sec |
Here is a cheap setup to reach 1 second alchemy time. No pearl shop costume required.
- Advanced Alchemy Tool /Supreme Alchemy Tool (1 sec)
- Silver Embroidered Alchemist's Clothes (4 secs)
- Life Spirit Stone (1.1 secs)
- Seafood Cron Meal (0.6 secs)
- Verdure Draught (1 sec)
- [A Fragment of a Star, a Spoonful of the Moon] Alchemy Time -2 sec Alchemy EXP +10% Alchemy Mastery +20 Weight Limit +30LT
It can make sense to invest into mastery clothes if you plan to do alchemy long-term. They're generally more expensive but give mastery on top of alchemy time reduction, which increases your income.
Step 4: Get EXP Buffs
You should run these buffs at all times:
A few buffs to consider:
- Perfume of Swiftness
- [Event] Secret Book of Old Moon (1 Day) (can be bought in the pearl shop for 2k loyalties)
- Life EXP pets Gray Moon Cat
- Tent Buff: [Villa] Turning Gates (180 min)
- Treant's Tear - an alchemy stone that gives +30% life EXP. To obtain it, you need a lvl. 60 season character and complete a small quest chain (video guide).
- Sethra's Artifact - Alchemy EXP (obtained from imperial alchemy delivery)
- Mercenary's Life (60 min) (from Rewards tab)
- Caphras - Journal of Nature (from Caphras Journal) A full list of buffs can be found here

.
