[Storybook] Tale of the Bamboo Legion

Chapter 1: Bamboo Legion Once upon a time in the Land of the Morning Light, there lived a wise and beloved king whose very presence brought smiles to the faces of his people. One night, he had a strange dream. He dreamt that Bonghwang of Mt. Ahshi lead a flock of black crows to a bamboo forest where they feasted on bamboo shoots. When the king awoke, he was surprised to see the same flock of black crows from his dream flying by. Taking this as a good omen, he followed the flock of crows. Eventually, he arrived at a bamboo forest called ‘Shimnidae Forest‘ where he discovered an old stele inscribed with a message that read: ‘A treasure bestowed upon a virtuous king under the heavens. Make a flute out of white bamboo, and once it's played, peace will reign throughout the world.‘ The king, inspired by the message, made a flute out white bamboo which was growing next to the stele and named it the Tideturner Flute. When he played the flute, a gust of wind suddenly blew from nowhere, and soldiers with green leaves on their heads suddenly appeared before him, pledging to protect the Land of the Morning Light. These soldiers, known as the Bamboo Legion appeared whenever the country was in crisis. The Tideturner Flute was placed in the Vault of the Heavens, where all great treasures were kept, and the people of the Morning Light showed their gratitude to the Bamboo Legion by performing an annual ritual at Baekjuk Stele on the day the flute was created.
