June 9 When I was crossing the great big desert, I met a colossal dragon amidst the sandstorm and broke my compass. Thankfully, Mr. Aakman showed me the way and told me to take 601 steps straight ahead. One step, two step... My feet kept sinking into the deep sand making it difficult to walk. I received help from a nearby camel and continued across the desert. When the sun set, the camel suddenly stopped along the way in the middle of nowhere. There I found something sparkling nearby. Wow! It was a horse with soft brown mane, and on its forehead was a beautiful horn. It was unlike anything I've seen in the desert and it carried me ever so carefully. It's so fast! Let's keep going, just 601 steps more! ... Huh? What's this? I soon realized that we arrived at a gigantic crater. Of course, horses take bigger strides than I do! Sigh... Why is it so difficult to get across the desert?
