January 22 I went to the woods after my brief encounter with the Root Nymph. As I was walking in the woods, I encountered a beautiful elk with large horns. There was something about the elk that made it stand out from others. The elk's lush fur and pure, crystal clear eyes captivated me. I felt a sudden rush of excitement course through me. I carefully drew my matchlock and quietly approached the elk. I hid in the bush and crawled my way to the elk to prevent myself from getting caught. Soon, the elk was within range. It was so quiet that the only thing I heard was the sound of heart beating. I held my breath and pulled the trigger. The elk plopped to the ground when the sound of the matchlock cracked and echoed in the woods. A little child holding on a matchlock appeared, and made a claim over the kill and proceeded to drag the lifeless elk. You could tell the little child was struggling to carry the elk. The little child offered to divide the share if I helped carry the elk to an outpost nearby.
